...I will be called "ma" 100 times a day

Many of you may know that I have a sweet little boy that is extremely attached to me. Oh, Grayson. He is 2 and his speech has developed incredibly in the past few months. My sister, Paige, was staying with me a couple of weeks ago and pointed out that Grayson calls me "ma" quite often. She wondered if David had taught him to say that due to his love of "Little House on the Prairie". I had never really noticed what Grayson calls me, just that he calls me quite often. After she brought that to my attention, it was all I could hear and he says it just about after every sentence.

"need more drinks, ma"
"love you too, ma"
"wanna watch scooby-doo, ma"
"need my dragon shoes, ma"
"wanna sleep later, ma"

It is pretty hilarious.  I can't stop mimicking him, I just think it is so funny.  Who knows where he learned this speech pattern or if it will stop.  All I know is that it is quite entertaining just to hear what comes out of my children's mouths on a daily basis.

Last week Afton started saying "aye, aye Captain".  At first Grayson got pretty mad when she would say it to him.  He would say, "I not Captain, I KING!"  He is obsessed with being king and gets very upset if you suggest he is anything less.  I think after a few days, he finally caught on that she wasn't really calling him or claiming to be anything so he started saying it too with hand motion and everything.  Then Afton started turning to me and saying "aye, aye Captain... I mean Your Ladyship!"  So funny, where do these kids learn these things?

Just tonight, Grayson was trying to go to sleep but was having a hard time.  Of course, he wanted to be rocked, sang to, tucked in and given fresh cups of water.  I did all of those things for him so that I could just get him to sleep and move on with my evening plans.  David finally went upstairs to check on him and say goodnight but Grayson said "I'm tired Dad, leave me alone."  What a kid.

...I stuffed my face for 3 days and watched ANTM

Ok, so lately I have craved chocolate like crazy which has inspired purchases of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Junior Mints, Ghiradelli Chocolate Caramels, Hershey's Kisses and chocolate covered cinnamon bears. Yeah, I'm not kidding. On top of that I can't stop eating pickles. I've gone thru 4 jars in 5 days. Now, i know about you are all thinking "prego". But I can assure you that is not the case (believe me, i took a test while trying to come up with a reason to just be fat and cry for no apparent reason). Yes, it is true, I have been working out which in turn has sped up my metabolism but come on, this is ridiculous. I just can't stop. If I find a minute to think about myself, all i can think about is what I can stuff in my mouth. So, if you happen to knock on my door this week, please show up bearing gifts of chocolate and pickles.

On to America's Next Top Model... Yay Whitney! I have been rooting for her most of the competition and I did shed a little tear when she won. She is so gorgeous. There is nothing I love more than sitting in front of ANTM in the dark, all by myself while eating whatever I want. Really, you should try it ;)

...I had a visit from my CO bff

What a nice day. Farrah and her little girl, Georgia came to visit me yesterday from Denver. I miss them so much. We had lunch, showed her the new house and caught up everything that has happened since we left a month ago. We also took some adorable pics of Georgia with our giant bunny that I took her newborn pics with a year ago. I can't wait to see how they turn out ( used the old school ways of film instead of instantly gratifying digital). Thanks for coming, Farrah! I can't wait to see you again in a couple of weeks!

...I will get rid of looney bird

So, we have this bird that has been torturing us for the past week and a half.  It all started one morning when we kept hearing this weird noise like a shovel hitting hard soil or... a bird flying into a window.  It lasted for quite a long time so we went downstairs to investigate and found that crazy bird standing on an outdoor chair and crashing into the window every few minutes.  Ridiculous, right.  Well, I thought no bird would be crazy enough to do that for more than a day (or really more than one time), but he has been back everyday since.  He will go at it for as long as we let him, just pooping all over the deck furniture and crashing into the window.  I keep trying to scare him away but nothing has worked so far.  Any advice?  How do we "knock" some sense into this bird?

...I will start my own blog

So, the time has finally come when I think I have more to blog about than my own children through their eyes.  We just moved to a new house in a new city in a new state.  New adventures await and since I have less people to talk to in person, I think it's time I shared it all with all of you!
