...I will be a swimsuit model - pt. 2

Wow, what a day it turned out to be. Hair and make-up at 7 a.m. and I can assure you that I did not get much sleep last night. I was nervous from about midnight last night until I walked off the stage at 10:47 this morning. To be honest though, it was so much fun. The ABC studio was really cool and Good Things Utah set was a lot smaller than I imagined. The girls on the show were so nice and kept telling us how brave we were. Then I got to thinking, am I really brave? Should I even be here doing this? But it was definitely too late to flake out. The host's (Angie) comment about my abs made it all worth it. Check it out...

P.S. We took a lot of pics a the studio so I will post them after I get them thru email.

...I will be a swimsuit model

Well today is the day. I have been half terrified and half ecstatic waiting for it to come. Three weeks ago, a friend I met two years ago called me up. Her name is Heather Fish and she designs beautiful one-peice swimsuits called Pearl Swimwear. She had remembered that I just moved to Utah and was wondering if I would "do her a favor" and model one of her suits on "Good Things Utah". Well, for any of you who live here or have visited for an extended period of time, you know that this show is kind of a big deal here. I was so excited, ever since I moved here I have been trying to think of a way to get on this show and who knew all I had to do was answer my phone.

The bad thing about wearing a swimsuit on local television is that no matter what shape you are, you start having this body-conscience thing happen. Immediately, I went out and filled the fridge with healthy food and made a plan to workout everyday for 3 weeks. Well, the healthy eating plan didn't last long and the working out thing ended up just being half as much as I planned, but for me I think that was pretty good. When will I ever have willpower?

Last night I had my fitting at a modeling agency (3 girls are real models). And let me tell you, it was indeed terrifying. It was everything you imagine an agency to be. Naked girls trying on swimsuits in a room. Loud dance club music blasting and an incredibly intimidating catwalk down the middle. Luckily, they didn't make us practice our walk.

So, I am about to leave for hair and make-up. I really hope I don't fall today and I hope these nerves relax by the time I get there. Wish me luck. I will let you know how it goes and if it isn't a disaster, I will send you a link to the clip.

Update on that crazy bird

Sorry for all the gloom in my last post.  Just a mood, please don't take it personal.  I love keeping up to date with everybody's blogs.

Anyhow, if any of you were wondering what i did to get rid of bird, here is the story.  Someone told me about this patio decoration that is typically sold at mall kiosks.  It kind of twirls in the wind and keeps the birds away.  Well, I am a living advertisement because it worked!  As soon as we got that thing hung, that bird (or any other bird for that matter) has kept away which means our beautiful deck furniture is now poop free!

...I need to pull out of my blogging depression

It has been a very long time since my last post and I apologize to any of you who might be reading.  Yes, it's true, I have found myself in a little bit of a blogging depression.  It happens to the best of us.  Sure, I've had plenty to blog about... movies, trips, visits from loved ones.  I guess I have fallen so far behind, it seems impossible to catch-up.  On top of that, I have to admit I have gotten sick of some of the blog fluff that happens.  You know what I mean.  The "we're great" - "things are great" - "my baby's a genius" - "look at the thousands of things I accomplish daily" crap.  I know that I am guilty at times too of fluffing up the blog (more like Afton is ;).  I just needed a break from it.  There are days when I can barely open my eyes long enough to pour my kids a bag of cereal that they can carry around with them the whole day so that I don't have to feed them again.  Just kidding, but seriously,  I know I can't be the only one who falls into a black hole once in a while, maybe we should blog a little more about that stuff.
